Obituary of Elton McDaniel
Please share a memory of Elton to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mr. Henry Elton McDaniel, 87, of Echo, slipped away from this world on November 3, 2014 at his home.
Funeral services will be 2:30 P. M. Thursday, November 6, 2014, at Bethel United Methodist Church with Reverend Charles Melvin, Reverend Phil Craddock, and grandson, Jason Woodham officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Thursday at the church from 12:30 P. M. until service time.
Mr. McDaniel was born February 20, 1927 in Dale County to the late Marion Cooper McDaniel and Ollie Bell Enfinger McDaniel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers: Lewie; Joe; Jimmy, and Wayne.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 1/2 years: Marceline German McDaniel; his daughters: Marcie (Jackie) Stokes, Angie (David) Heath, his grandchildren: Jason Woodham, Tara (Jody) Hughes, Natalie (Chris) Barefield, Morgan Heath;
his great-grandchildren: Emmaline, Bryson, and Sawyer-Belle Hughes, and a very large, affectionate extended family.
In life, he was many things: a farmer; hunter; trapper; fisherman; soldier, and business owner. His success in these areas was matched only by his singular wit, good-hearted nature, and deep family values. Loved and respected by many and completely adored by his family, he will be sorely missed because there was only one H. E. McDaniel.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in Elton’s memory to Bethel United Methodist Church, 6084 County Road 36, Ozark, AL 36360; or to the Echo Fire and Rescue, P. O. Box 372, Ozark, AL 36361.
