Mrs. Sadie Pearl Johns Searcy, age 89, of Ozark, died Monday, April 14, 2014. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Ozark Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Steve King officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 P.M. until service time. Mrs. Searcy was born October 18, 1924, in Graceville, Florida to the late Homer and Irene Ward Johns. She was a life-long resident of Dale County and Ozark, working for thirty-six years with The Bank of Ozark/South Trust until her retirement. She was a faithful member of the Ozark Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher. Mrs. Searcy was a member of the Lady Gideon’s Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Milford Coleman Searcy. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Brenda Searcy of Thomasville, North Carolina, Dennis and Patricia Searcy of Ozark; grandchildren, Deborah Lozo, Christopher Searcy, Jason Searcy, Laura Jean Estes and their respective spouses; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Lozo, Jackson Searcy, Jon Cole Searcy, Jase Searcy, Josi Brook Searcy, Bella-Rayne Estes, and Chase Searcy. Also surviving are two sisters, Frances Byran of Columbus and Helen Toole of Eufaula. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to The Gideons International, Ozark Charter, P.O. Box 291, Ozark, Alabama 36361; or to Ozark Baptist Church Building Fund, 314 South Union Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360. Service Information
