Obituary of Jane Driver Matheny

Mrs. Jane Driver Matheny, 92, of Dothan, passed away November 23, 2013 in Wesley Manor Retirement Center, following an extended illness. Funeral services will be graveside, 11 am Monday, November 25, 2013, in Memory Hill Cemetery with the Reverend Peter Wong officiating. Holman Funeral Home of Ozark in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Matheny was born December 9, 1920, in Montgomery, Alabama to the late Nellie Hodges Driver and Marvin Levert Driver. Mrs. Matheny moved to Dothan at a young age and graduated from Dothan High School in 1939. She worked as a bookkeeper for Slingluff Insurance in Dothan for 34 years until her retirement in 1980. Mrs. Matheny was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Albert Matheny, Sr. and her sister Robyn Ann Craig. She is survived by two sons, Al Matheny and his wife Carolyn and Bill Matheny and his wife Lisa all of Dothan; pne brother Marvin Douglas Driver and his wife Joan of Montgomery; five grandchildren, Jim Matheny, Kaye Matheny Smith, Cherie Matheny Chason, Robyn Matheny George, and Sara Matheny Deavers. Eleven great-grandchildren also survive. The family would like to express their love and appreciation to the management and staff of the Sanders Wing of Wesley Manor Retirement Center and Gentiva Hospice.
