Obituary of Sgt. Leon T. Jordan

Sgt. Leon T. Jordan (United States Army), died Monday, October 14, 2013, in Kansas City, Kansas. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 26, 2013, at Peniel Baptist Church with Reverend Don Moore officiating. Interment will follow with Military Honors in the church cemetery, with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening October 25, 2013, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Sgt. Jordan was born February 22, 1982 in Nuremberg, Germany. He spent most of his childhood in Skipperville, AL and enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 20. He went on four overseas tours – three of which were active combat duty; one to Alaska, one to Iraq, and two to Afghanistan. Leon was an avid bass fisherman; a proud United States soldier; and a loving father, brother, and son. He always had a smile on his face and made friends wherever he went. Sgt. Jordan cherished his Army brothers and sisters and was honored to serve alongside them. His two children were his proudest accomplishments and he deeply adored them. Leon was loved by many and will forever be missed. Survivors include one son, Dakota Jordan of Carrollton, Georgia; one daughter, Savannah Jordan of Carthage, NY; his mother and step-father, Lynn and Frank Sullivan of Ozark, AL; his father and step-mother, Mike and Joan Jordan of Skipperville, AL; his maternal grandmother, Carla Faye Sallee of Niceville, FL; his brother and sister-in-law, Johnny Jordan and Jennifer of Freeport, Florida; his brother Ryan Jordan of Skipperville, AL; five uncles and their wives and many cousins.
