Obituary of H. R. Scott

Mr. H. R. "Goat" Scott, 91, of Ozark, Alabama, joined his Lord and Savior and his wife of 67 years, Beatrice, in Heaven on August 28, 2012. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Friday, August 31, 2012, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home of Ozark with Reverend Kenneth Andrews and Pastor Doug Crosby officiating. Interment will follow in Peniel Baptist Church Cemetery in Skipperville, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Thursday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. H. R. moved to Ozark from Troy in 1960 and worked at Walter Hand Motor Company until his retirement in 1983. He enjoyed his family and friends, fishing, hunting, gardening, Alabama football and Braves baseball. He coached little league baseball for many years in Troy during the 1950's and in Ozark during the 1960's. H. R. was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Davis Scott; and his parents, James Macon Scott and Emma Turner Scott. He is survived by his children, Julia and William Culpepper of Troy, Mack and Linda Scott of Goshen, Betty and Vick Lucido of Montgomery, and Billy and Toni Scott of Dothan; six grandchildren, Donna Scott, Tonya Gibson, Deanna Navarre, Todd Culpepper, Blake Hyde, and Sharon Collazo; nine great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to H. R.'s caregiver, Barbara Smith (and her husband Dana) for her love and care which allowed him to remain in his home until his death. Also thank you to D. M. C. Home Health (Patty and Kristi), Covenant Hospice, and visits and prayers from Grace Baptist Church. Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Scott, Todd Culpepper, Tyler Culpepper, Ronald Scott, Mitchell Scott, Ricky Davis, Gary Pritchett, and Bill Kiley. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Peniel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2710 County Road 41, Skipperville, Alabama 36374. Service Information
