Leroy Sims, 95, of the Chalkhead Community of Ozark, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Wesley Manor in Dothan, Alabama.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Friday, March 16, 2012, in the chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Tommy West and Chaplain Eddie Biss officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 12:30 P. M. until service time.
Mr. Sims was born in Ozark, Alabama on August 4, 1916 to the late Abner Lee Sims and Martha Ellen Byrd Sims. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vennie Warrick Gunter Sims.
He is survived by his step daughter, Nadine (Deryl) Seifried of Dothan; two step daughters-in-law, Okalee Gunter of Dothan, Alabama and June Gunter of Orange, Texas. Mr. Sims is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and step grandchildren. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Chalkhead Baptist Church Building Fund,495 County Road 35, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
