Dr. J. P. Faust DVM, age 89, of Ozark, passed away March 10, 2012, at his residence with his family at his bedside. Funeral services will be 1:00 P. M. Tuesday, March 13, 2012, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Tommy West officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Monday, March 12, 2012, at the funeral home from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Dr. Faust was born March 4, 1923, in Dale County. He served in the Navy's 90th Seabee Battalion from 1941 - 1945. During this time, he served at Anguar, Pelelieu and Iwo Jima. After completing his Navy service, he attended Auburn University from 1946 - 1950, where he graduated with his doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. In 1951 he met and married his wife, Jean Pylant Faust. He practiced veterinary medicine from 1951 until he retired at the age of 63. Dr. Faust was preceded in death by his parents Amirah Biggs Faust and Rozella Rhodes Faust; five brothers, Bascom Floyd Faust, James Theadore Faust, William L. Faust, Randal Faust, and Raymon Ray Faust; and one sister, Annie Bessie Gillis. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jean Pylant Faust of Ozark; son, Joe Faust (Renee) of Enterprise; grandchildren, Brian Faust and Krysten Faust Haddan; great granddaughter, Emily Ann Powell; and several nieces and nephews.
