Obituary of Mary Turvin Ellis

Mrs. Mary Ollie Turvin Ellis, of Ozark, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, April 20, 2016. She was 90 years old.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Saturday, April 23, 2016, from Rocky Head Baptist Church with Reverend Bill Weed and Reverend Joe Underwood officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Friday from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M.
Mrs. Ellis was born July 25, 1925 in Pike County. She worked for many years in the cotton textile industry. Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by her parents, Sarah Johnson Turvin and Allen Fletcher Turvin; her husband, Grover Cleveland Ellis; children, JoAnn Jacobs, Donnie Ellis, and Rickey Ellis; one sister and seven brothers.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Hal Brown of Waldorf, Maryland; one brother, Bill Turvin of Salem, Alabama; two daughters-in-law, Linda Ellis of Newton and Nancy Ellis of Ozark; and one son-in-law, Carlton Jacobs of Brundidge. Twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Rock Head Baptist Church, 1983 Hwy 51, Ariton, Alabama 36361; or to Mt. Olive Cemetery Fund, C/O Mr. Gerald Goodson, 1681 Hwy 51, Ariton, Alabama 36311.
