Mrs. Valerie Renee McCartha Posey, age 45, of Ariton, died Sunday, October 9, 2011, in Southeast Alabama Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A. M. Wednesday, October 12, 2011, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home of Ozark with Reverend Floyd Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 9:00 A. M. until service time.
Mrs. Posey was born March 16, 1966 in Ozark where she graduated from Carroll High School in 1984. She worked with Pizza Hut as a manager in the Ozark, Enterprise, and Elba stores. Renee was an Alabama football fan, an avid antiquer, and a loving mother. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jerome McCartha.
Survivors include her son, Garrett Mark Posey of Ariton;
her parents, Perrie (PeWee) McCartha and Doris Davis McCartha;
three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Donna and Tom Duke of Ozark, Maria and Stan Jordan of Grand Ridge, Florida, and Jynell Cox of Skipperville;
two brothers, Perrie McCartha III of Daleville and Todd McCartha of Ozark;
a special cousin, Janet Turner Harper of Dothan;
her special friend, Joe Thomas of New Brockton;
