I will always consider Mary Vic as family. She and my Aunt Kitty Dean had profound influences on my life. I watched both of them teach, and they often took me on their BETA Club and other trips. I always felt that my own teaching reflect what I learned from them. My parents loved her, also, and drove over to see her as long as they were able. My own visits with Mary Vic these past years since the passing of my aunt and both of my parents were particularly meaningful to me. Our visit the year she before she went into the nursing home was memorable as we looked at her picture books, talked about all of the good times, and drove to have lunch at her favorite restaurant. My visits these past years while she was in the nursing home also meant very much to me even as they became more difficult with her decline because I always saw that spark that was the wonderful, vital woman I had always known. I will miss her.

Miss Paramore was such an inspiration to me & my sibling's. She was a great teacher & friend. She taught me in Ariton High School. She worked extra hard to help me with my hardships dealing in Mathematics. I always would see her years after in Dale County Hospital where she volunteered as a Pink Lady helping everyone that needed help. There is no telling how many life's she touched including mine with her sweet kindness. She will be missed by all. May God bless her family & everyone that she touched their life's.
