Obituary of Robert Blackman
Mr. Robert Hilliard Blackman, a resident of Ozark, died Monday, March 18, 2019, in Flowers Hospital. He was seventy-nine years old.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 21, 2019, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Pastor Jeff Downing officiating. Interment will follow in Southside Baptist Church Cemetery with Masonic Rites, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Wednesday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P. M.
Mr. Blackman was born October 10, 1939 in Dale County, Alabama to the late Hilliard Roscoe Blackmon and Lucille Bertie Cain Blackmon. He served in the United States Marine Corps and later worked at Fort Rucker with various aircraft maintenance contractors as an Aircraft Technical Inspector for 52 years until his death. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 349. Mr. Blackman loved to go fishing, baking cakes and especially enjoyed playing the guitar at various singings in the area. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Shelby Jean Williams.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Betty Joan Wilson Blackman of Ozark; three sons, Timothy Blackmon (Millie) of Box Springs, Georgia, Robert H. Blackmon II (Tiffany Ann) of Ozark, and Roderick H. Blackmon (Tammy Williams) of Ozark; four grandchildren, Quintin Blackmon, Judson Blackmon, Reed Blackmon, and Sara Blackmon; and one niece, Kelly Brunson.
