Obituary of Shirley Johnson Richardson

Mrs. Shirley Johnson Richardson of Ozark passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at the age of 79.

Funeral services will be held graveside 2:30 P.M. Saturday, March 30, 2019, in Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, County Road 15 in Ozark, with Reverend Joe Underwood officiating. Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the services.

Mrs. Richardson was born November 6, 1939 in Haleburg, Alabama to the late Milton Johnson and Sallie Weems Johnson. She attended Haleburg Elementary School, graduated from Headland High School in 1958, attended Wallace Community College and Troy University. She worked as a teacher’s aide.  Mrs. Richardson was a member of Midland City Baptist Church and a past member of The Eastern Star.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Johnson and Gary Johnson.

She is survived by her husband, Jerome Richardson of Ozark, Alabama; one daughter, Pamela Richardson Bainter (Jason) of Helena, Alabama; one son, Jeffrey R. Richardson (Dannie) of Tallahassee, Florida; one granddaughter, Sarah Richardson of St. Petersburg, Florida; three grandsons, R. J. Richardson of Tallahassee, Florida, Charlie Bainter and Sam Bainter of Helena, Alabama;  one brother, Rex Johnson (Maxine) of Haleburg, Alabama; and one sister-in-law, Carolyn Johnson of Taylor, Alabama.

Memorials may be made in her memory to Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Road, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35404; or to the charity of your choice.
