Mrs. Betty Jo Smith Johnson, 87, of the Mt. Pleasant Community in Coffee County, died Tuesday evening, May 14, 2019, at her home after a short illness.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with Reverend Karl Hudson officiating.  Interment will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Saturday in the church from 9:30 A.M. until service time.

Mrs. Johnson was born August 16, 1931, in Coffee County, Alabama to the late Claudia Homer Smith and Carrie Clifton Boyette Smith.  She was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Enterprise.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Johnson; and two brothers, Billy Jim Smith and Ted Boyette Smith, Sr.; and one grandson, Scott Johnson.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Tony DuBose of Enterprise; one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Karen Johnson of Enterprise; four grandchildren, Kimberly Thornton (Michael), Ken Johnson (Brandy), Stephanie Walters (Clint), and Mark Johnson; seven great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Mable Smith of Enterprise; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 4015 Hwy 27, Enterprise, Alabama  36330.
