I can't believe you are not running up to me trying to get me to listen to one of your records. Roy you were a good and special friend. I wish we had had one more visit. It makes me realize how important it is now. You came all the way to Shocco Springs to take my wedding pictures. You took friends home that didn't have a ride. I know all you really wanted was to have friends. You came to my 9th birthday party. I think that is the first time we met. I won't forget you my old friend and how generous you were to so many. Be seeing you again.

Bartow my old friend I hate to see you go. We have been friends for a long time and had a lot of great laughs. Always thought it was an honor that you told me to call you Bartow. To me, it meant that we great friends. See you in Heaven Ol' buddy.

Bartow has been one of the most loyal friends I've ever had. We were very close and we're like brothers. There were several of us that used to meet up at Bartow's home downstairs and listen to his albums for hours on end. It was like a museum, he saved everything. Bartow you are in God's hands and the suffering is over. I love you...

Wow! What a shock to hear about Roy. I remember calling him Roy and Bartow.
Apart from being a friend and kind, what I recall most from high school was his hair. In those days, hair length was a major issue. Roy somehow got around all the issues with his ‘fro style’ hairdo.
He was a great guy and will surely be missed.

I first met “Bartow” as a teenager. Back then he was larger than life and almost like a cartoon character come to life. He was so funny! And smart. And creative. And had an opinion about everything. He definitely made the world a more interesting place to share with him.

My dear old childhood friend, neighbor, ..you were a special and unique person. How happy you are to be free of pain and loneliness. You can walk with your mama and be blessed by the Lord. I kiss you. You were a true friend who drove us to school. You bought me my first Carpenters record. You drive friends home when they didn't have a car..so many other things. Took the pictures at my wedding. May you rest and I will see you again.

I have known Roy all his life. He was always very friendly and a very good photographer covering all the sporting events in Ozark. I will always remember him for that and his big hair. May your soul rest in peace with your Mother and other relatives.
