Mrs. Betty Lou Welch Goolsby, a resident of Skipperville, died Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at her home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 10, 2020, from Morgan Baptist Church with Reverend Tim Sewell officiating. Interment will follow in Beersheba Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Thursday from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Mrs. Goolsby was born February 26, 1957, in Marianna, Florida to the late Robert Welch and Annie Belle Gaskins Welch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Johnny Welch, James Welch, Roy Welch, and Gene Welch. Survivors include her husband, Calvin Goolsby; one daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Mike Watson; grandchildren, Matthew and Lexia Smith, and Ben Smith; great grandson, James Smith; three sisters, Jewel Hunt, Helen Hunt (James), Patricia Ann Reeves; two brothers, Henry Welch and Doug Welch (Vickie); sisters-in-law, Catherine Riffee (Larry), Sandra White (George), Barbara Risden, and Angie Goolsby; brothers-in-law, Gene Goolsby (Kim), Jackie Goolsby (Mona); and a special friend, Betty Mims. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Morgan Baptist Church, C/O Mrs. Betty Watson, 186 White Oak Bend, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
