Obituary of Betty Price Littlefield

Please share a memory of Betty Price to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mrs. Betty Price Littlefield, 87, a resident of Ozark, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 after a lengthy illness. She is now united with those who have gone before her and is suffering no more. Praise God! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its continued spread, a private family service will be held for Mrs. Littlefield. Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark has been entrusted with the arrangements. Betty was born in Edwin, Alabama on November 8, 1932 to the late Ewell Drew Price and Mary Bell Shipes Price and was an only child. She attended Skipperville School and played on the basketball and softball team. She moved to Ozark with her husband, J. D. “Demp” Littlefield and their sons in 1957 and had called Ozark home since that time. She worked at Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation for many years and Vivian B. Adams School. She retired early and was able to travel with her husband to various places in the United States as well as go on a cruise with much persuasion. After retirement, she was in a bowling league, spent time with family and friends and spent some time making ceramic pieces. She was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church for numerous years and taught many children and youth in the GA’s and Sunday School programs and chaperoned several youth outings. Anyone that knew her, knew Betty had a passion for cooking, especially baking cakes, tending her beautiful flowers and plants, visiting those in need or sick and gospel music. Nothing got in the way of her watching the Gaither’s, not even Alabama football. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Ewell and Mary Bell Price and her beloved husband, Demp Littlefield and many close relatives and friends. Betty had a deep love for her children and was an amazing mother. She is survived by her sons, Johnny (June) Williams, Hoover of AL and George (Wanda) Williams of Ozark, AL and her daughter, Beverly (Richard) Lawson of Destin, FL. She was the ultimate Granny and enjoyed spoiling all the grandchildren: Heidi Williams Andrews, Kellie Williams, Heath (Ashley) Williams, Andrew Lawson, Chase Williams, and Brooke Lawson Tucker (Robert). She has three great grandchildren that she adored, Anna Laura and Ella Andrews and Aria Lawson. She was loved and will be missed dearly by them all. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Oakview Manor Nursing Facility for their loving care and kindness to Betty over these last few years. The staff has been very compassionate and supportive to both Betty and her family. Thanks especially to Ann Sullivan and Cheryl Sheffield Kelley for giving her that extra love when her family could not be there to do so. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Gideons International, P. O. Box 291, Ozark, Alabama 36361.
