Mr. John Britton Franklin, Jr., a resident of Ozark, died Thursday, August 13, 2020. He was 77 years old. Funeral services for Mr. Franklin will be graveside 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 17, 2020, in Union Presbyterian Cemetery. Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Private family services will be held in September 2020. Mr. Franklin was born January 28, 1943 in Columbus, Georgia to the late John Britton Franklin, Sr. and Ruby Lee Snider Franklin. He had lived in Ozark since 1959 where he worked with Ozark Plumbing, Heating and Electric for several years and with The Holiday Inn as the night manager for three years. Mr. Franklin was in an automobile accident in March 1970 which left him a paraplegic. He took care of his mother until her death in 2001. Survivors include cousins, Trudy Troiano of Conway, Arkansas, Pennie Hitt of Cocoa, Florida, Edna Culpepper of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Brannon Culpepper of Milton, Florida and Richard Culpepper of Longwood, Florida. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Ozark Rehab for not only being his caregiver but his friend for over 15 years. Also, Matthew Hamm has been a best friend and visited him often and his thoughtfulness of care will always be fondly remembered. We appreciated the care and helpfulness of Holman Funeral Home during the family loss.
