Mrs. Earleen Herring Bludsworth, a resident of Clayhatchee, Alabama, died Saturday, August 15, 2020. She was 97 years old.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bludsworth will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 21, 2020, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Pastor Tony Deese officiating and Mrs. Jan Alig speaking. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark from 9:00 A.M. until service time.
Mrs. Bludsworth was born May 2, 1923 in Dale County, Alabama to the late Gordon Herring and Lennie Whitehead Herring. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Clayhatchee. In earlier years, she and her husband were engaged in farming. Earleen enjoyed reading her bible and going to church, crocheting, cooking and spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, John Luther Bludsworth; four daughters, Margaret Faye Folds, Annise Maund, Johneen King, and Margie Watson; one son, John Luther “Johnny” Bludsworth, Jr.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Billy Gene Hicks, Michael Watson, Jeff Watson, Melanie Watson, Timothy Maund, Cindy Hicks, Stanley Folds, Wesley Folds and Tracy Folds; a special niece, Martha Gayle Santos. Several other nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Lung Health Center, 526 20th Street South, Birmingham, Alabama 35294.
