Obituary of Terry Lynn Gillen

Mr. Terry Lynn Gillen, a resident of Dothan, died Sunday, November 15, 2020, in Dale Medical Center at 62 years of age. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 18, 2020, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Charles Goldsmith officiating. Interment will be in Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, Georgia, Holman Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Wednesday at the funeral home in Ozark from 9:00 A.M. until service time. Mr. Gillen was born July 17, 1958 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Leroy William Gillen and Mara Elizabeth Taylor Gillen. Mr. Gillen served in the United States Army. Terry loved to go fishing and spend time with family and friends. He was a volunteer fireman in Ozark for 16 years and would always be there to help a friend in need. Terry was a kind and generous man with many friends and family that miss him greatly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, David C. Barfield, Michael Barfield and Steven Barfield. Survivors include his wife, Mollie VanWagner; one daughter, Katrina VanWagner; one son, Mark D. VanWagner all of Dothan; three sisters, Donna Bergeron of Ozark, Tara Parker Graham and Taynia Parker of Longview, Texas. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
