Mrs. Roberta Nims East, a former resident of Echo, died Thursday, January 7, 2021. She was 86 years old.
Funeral services will be graveside 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 14, 2021, in Echo United Methodist Church Cemetery with Deacon Pat Pattberg officiating. Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Wednesday from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
Mrs. East was born September 14, 1934 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late Robert Daniel Nims, Sr. and Gracie Pearl Bradford Nims. She was a member of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church in Ozark and a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Adolfus East.
Survivors include five sons, Norman East of Anniston, Gordon East of Abbeville, Joseph East of Eufaula, Reuben East of Echo, and Richard East of Maine. Eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, 475 Camilla Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
