Mrs. Vann Byrd Snell Smith of Fairhope, Alabama died at her home on February 18, 2021 after a long illness.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 25, 2021, in the Westview Memorial Cemetery Chapel with Reverend Dr. Cory Smith officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Smith family plot in Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ozark, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.
She was born on May 6, 1931 in Ozark, AL to the late Ellis Foy Snell and Lucile Byrd Snell. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Reverend Marcus Herbert Smith. Vann graduated cum laude from Wesleyan College in Macon, GA in 1952 and received a Master's in Counseling from Troy State University. She was a licensed Psychometrist.
She is also survived by her two children, Marc Smith (Anne) of Knoxville, TN and Kathy Smith Terry (John) of Plano, TX; five grandchildren, Dr. Meghan Smith, Dr. Allison Smith Lawson, Harrison Smith, Kaitlin Terry Canver and Chandler Grace Terry Peltier; one great grandchild, William Scott Lawson.
