Obituary of Eva Akridge Turner

Mrs. Eva Akridge Turner's life ended June 6, 2021. She was 104 years old.
Funeral services for Mrs. Turner will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 9, 2021 in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Elder Larry Wheeler officiating. Interment will follow in Camp Ground Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until service time. The family has requested that all social distancing and face covering guidelines be observed.
Mrs. Turner was born March 2, 1917 in Dale County, Alabama to the late Ed Warren Akridge and Nora Hudson Akridge. She lived her entire life near Ozark, Alabama. After the death of her husband Samuel Paul Turner in 1952 she spent her remaining life rearing their two children. She worked the equivalent of three careers, with Civil Service at Fort Rucker, clerk at Mattox Drugs, and as a volunteer at Dale County Hospital (Pink Ladies). She was a member of Camp Ground Baptist Church for about 80 years. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.
She is survived by her children, Linda Spivey (Lawson) of Ozark and Stanley Turner of Dothan. She also has five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchildren.
The family requests that contributions in lieu of flowers be donated to Ozark Primitive Baptist Church, C/O Mrs. Betty Deloney, 1831 Lonnie Watson Road, Newton, Alabama 36352.
