Obituary of Martha Jean Knight Tharp

Mrs. Martha Jean Knight Tharp, of Luverne, Alabama, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021, in Dale Medical Center following a brief illness. She was 73 years old. A private memorial service for Mrs. Tharp will be held at a later date. Mrs. Tharp was born August 5, 1948 in Dothan, Alabama to the late Fred Knight and Burnell Cherry Knight. She was a certified Pharmacy Technician. She married Jimmy S. Tharp on October 2, 1965 in Clay County, Georgia. She was a loving mother to three children, Stacia Jones of Enterprise, AL, Brian Tharp of Luverne, AL, and the late Jason Tharp of Webb, AL. Mrs. Tharp was a loving grandmother to Andrew Jones of Memphis, TN, Kayla Jones of Enterprise, AL and Tristan Jones of Enterprise, AL. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren. Martha was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jimmy S. Tharp; and her son, Jason Tharp.
