Mr. Bobby Joe “Joey” Shaw, Jr., a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Monday, September 20, 2021, in Southeast Health Medical Center. He was 54 years old. Funeral services for Mr. Shaw will be 2:30 P.M. Friday, September 24, 2021, from Chalkhead Baptist Church with Reverend Michael Woodham officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends in the church Friday from 1:00 P.M. until service time. Mr. Shaw was born December 10, 1966 to the late Bobby Joe Shaw Sr. and Janice Maund Shaw. Joey worked for 27 years with various contractors at Fort Rucker as an Avionics Technician, presently with M1. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and most of all spending time with his family. Joey never met a stranger; he became an immediate friend to all. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Nettie Lee Shaw and his maternal grandparents, Elmer and Clyde Maund. Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Cheri Mizell Shaw of Headland; one daughter, Lily Shaw of Headland; one sister, Tammy Shaw of Ozark; one brother, Scotty Shaw (Annie) of Ozark. Several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Chalkhead Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 495 County Road 35, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
