Joel and I worked together at the courthouse on a daily basis for ten years and when we weren't handling cases we talked politics, sports, and history. He is one of the few people I know who hardly ever had a bad thing to say about anyone. His kind and gentle nature often tempered me. Joel will be missed, but my memories of him remain.
