Obituary of James Elton Fain

Mr. James Elton “Pete” Fain of Ozark passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022, at the home of his daughter. He was 88. Funeral Services for Mr. Fain will be graveside at 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 7, 2022, in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Reverend Bill Hart officiating. Interment will follow with Military Honors, Holman Funeral Home directing. Mr. Fain was born July 26,1933 in Dale County, Alabama to the late Homer Realous Fain and Edna Maude Dansby Fain. James served as a Gunners Mate for 19 years in the United States Navy. He traveled the world over during his duty. Mr. Fain retired from Fort Rucker after over 30 years of employment for various contractors. He loved Alabama football and had a passion for reading and loved history. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Nettie Geraldine Thompson Fain; his daughter, Pamela Jean Williams; and two brothers, Kenneth Fain and Edwin Fain. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Jeff Peters of Ozark; four grandchildren, Jessica Neill (Cameron), Jacob Peters (Madison), Heather Williams (Teresa) and Justin Williams; two great grandchildren, Ransom Peters and Nathaniel Williams; one sister, Myra Nell Anderson ( Darryl) of Pinckard; two brothers, Emmett Fain (Betty) of Ozark and Easton Fain of Clarksville, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vivian B Adams School, 2047 Stuart Tarter Road, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
