Mrs. Laura Jean Tarter Woodham, a resident of Ozark, died Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at the age of 91. Funeral services for Mrs. Woodham will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 15, 2022, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Leon Estep officiating. Interment will follow in Claybank Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Friday from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Mrs. Woodham was born May 25, 1930 in Dale County, Alabama to the late Leslie Jackson Tarter and Alma Raines Tarter. She and her late husband lived in various places while he served in the United States Army. Following his military service, they made their home in Okeechobee, Florida where they owned and operated a grocery store from 1959 until 1980 when they moved back to Ozark. She was a member of the Ozark Church of Christ where she was very involved and especially loved the Ladies Bible Study. Mrs. Woodham loved her family, loved to read and was an avid gardener. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Edward Woodham; two sons, Wesley Jackson Woodham and Wayne Powell Woodham; and two sisters, Sylvia Skelton and Anita Brown. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Rick Albert of Okeechobee, Florida; one son, Doug Woodham of Dothan; fourteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
