Obituary of Charles Wilburn Cotten
Mr. Charles Wilburn Cotten, a resident of Ozark, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023. He was 86 years old.
Funeral services for Mr. Cotten will be graveside 3:00 P.M. Sunday, March 26, 2023, in Mount Olive Cemetery with Reverend Les Lee officiating. Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mr. Cotten was born October 29, 1936 in Ozark, Alabama to the late Milton McRay Cotten and Mattie Ruth Cotten. He graduated from Ozark High School in 1955. Charles served in the Army National Guard and worked at Fort Rucker as a Supply Inspector for over 43 years until his retirement. . He was a member of Post Oak Baptist Church and a Mason in Carmichael Lodge #548 in Enterprise. Mr. Cotten enjoyed working in his yard and loved to plant and tend a garden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth Pipkins Cotten; one sister, Opal Jean Stinson; and three brothers, Thomas Ray Cotten, John Douglas Cotten and James Milton Cotten.
Survivors include three sons, David Cotten and Stanley Cotten of Daleville, Jeff Cotten (Page) of Reeltown, Alabama; two sisters, Mary Kathryn Goodson of Opp and Linda Bowden (Paul) of Kinston; one brother, Joseph Andrew Cotten (Diana) of Spring Hill; sister-in-law, Katie Cotten of Dothan; four grandchildren, Allison Parrish (David) of Clanton, Katelyn Cotten, Karlee Cotten, Luke Cotten all of Reeltown. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
