Obituary of Donald Roland Childree

With deep regret we announce the passing of our father Donald R. Childree. He peacefully departed us April 11, 2023 at 88 years old. Commemorative services for Mr. Childree will be held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, April 18, 2023 in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Adam Mulliner officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Mr. Childree was born November 25, 1934 in the Arguta Community of Dale County, Alabama to the late R. A. Childree and Alice Belle Langford Childree. He was a long-time resident of this area where he loved the Arguta Community House. Mr. Childree served in the United States Air Force. He was a veteran who sent money home after enlisting. Donald loved helping people. His great thirst for knowledge in the sciences earned him the nickname “The Professor”. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, J. D. Childree, Harold Childree, Billy Childree and Charles Childree. He is survived by three children, Donald Craig Childree (Kathy), Kimberly Lynn Hesch (Steve) and Cheryl Marie Mills (Danny); two sisters, Mary Nell Childree Adkins and Sarah Jean Childree Bowman (Billy Wayne); one brother, Larry Childree (Betty).
