Obituary of Jerry Durand Currie

Mr. Jerry Durand Currie, a resident of Ozark, died Friday, May 5, 2023, at his home. He was 57 years old. In keeping with the wishes of his family, there are no public services planned for Mr. Currie at this time. Holman Funeral Home of Ozark has been entrusted with the arrangements. Mr. Currie was born October 7, 1965, in Metairie, Louisiana to Jerry Currie and the late Sandra Nave Currie. He attended Alfred Bonnabel High School in Kenner, Louisiana. He moved to Naples, Florida in 1986 and began his career in telecommunications. Jerry worked as a cable installer and Auditing Supervisor with MasTec and CenturyLink. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid LSU Tiger and New Orleans Saints fan. He adored his family, his wife, his children, his grandchildren and his fur-babies, Dixie, Roux, Little Bit and Gunner. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Nave Currie. He is survived by his wife of 28 years (in June), Susan Crosby Currie of Ozark; two daughters, Mariah Padilla Crosby and Theresa Sterling both of Naples, Florida; two sons, Jerry Durant Currie of Naples, Florida and Ryan Currie (Cassie) of Picayune, Mississippi; his father, Jerry Currie of Gonzales, Louisiana; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ruth and Westley Crosby of Ozark; thirteen grandchildren, Jerry Currie, Tommy Currie, Kylah Davis, Victoria Callinan, Riannalynn Currie, Hailee Currie, Alex Smith, Jaxon Currie, Lewis Tucker, Vivianna Batista, Ashlynn Currie, Bayleigh Currie and Chloe Rutherford; two sisters, Yvette (Mike) Spiker of Naples, Florida and Kim Harper of Gonzales, Louisiana.
