Obituary of Timothy John Vernon

Mr. Timothy John “Tim” Vernon, Ozark Fire Department Captain (Retired), died Thursday, July 13, 2023 in Dale Medical Center emergency room. He was 59 years old. Funeral services for Mr. Vernon will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 21, 2023, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Michael Whitman and Reverend Keith Reynolds officiating. Departmental Honors and Masonic Rites will be presented following the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Thursday evening from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Mr. Vernon was born February 27, 1964, to the late Fredrick Alexious Vernon and Dorothy Ann Fugett Vernon. He attended Carroll High School and completed fire-fighter school in 1985. Tim worked with Pilchers Ambulance Service in Dothan and moved back to Ozark later that year to work with the Ozark Fire Department. He retired from the Ozark Fire Department as a Captain and a Paramedic after thirty-four years of service. Tim was a member of the Clinton Lodge #287 in Skipperville. He loved his fur-babies, Kane and Reese. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hotrods, guitars, and rock music. Tim adored his fiancé, Cindy, his children, and his grandchildren. He is survived by his fiancé, Cindy Brownfield of Ozark; two daughters, Kristin Lemanski (Ryan) of Pinckard and Holly Tucker (Erik) of Prattville; two sisters, Laura Grosskreutz (Carl) and Alicia Pollard (Bill) all of Texas; three brothers, Fredrick Vernon, Jr. (Di) of Texas, Michael Vernon of Texas and Dennis Vernon of California; four grandchildren and one on the way, Asher Brownfield, Emerson Tucker, Wyatt Lemanski, Jackson Simmons and Isla Mae Brownfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, P.O. Drawer 498, Emmitsburg, MD 21727.
