Obituary of Shana Marie Grantham

Mrs. Shana Marie Bludsworth Grantham, a resident of Dothan and formerly of Ozark, graduated to Heaven Tuesday night, August 15, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was 58 years old. A Celebration of Life for Shana will be held at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Ewell Bible Baptist Church with Reverend David Lewis and Reverend David Hale officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark on Saturday from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Shana was born January 18, 1965 in Ozark, Alabama to the late George Dewey Bludsworth and Helen Munn Bludsworth. She was a 1983 graduate of Carroll High School in Ozark. While working at Dairy King in Ozark, Shana started her apprenticeship in Cosmetology with her mom, Judy Ellis at Ewell Beauty Shop. Over the next 34 years she poured love into every person that sat in her chair, many of which became lifelong friends. It was also here that Shana met the love of her life Gary. Marriage came just one year after they met, followed a few years later by their children Leah and Garrett, who spent countless hours with their mom as she snipped, colored, curled, and styled. After many years and memories in Ewell, she moved her salon to Dothan. With her friend and business partner Mickey Smith, Shana founded Hairitage Salon, where her drive and work ethic expanded an already thriving business. The location may have been different, but the love and amazing hair was the same. When Shana was not practicing her role as Hair Therapist, she could be found adoring her four grandchildren and spending time with her friends and family. Shana was known by many names, “Momma, Baby, Shanie” but what she loved the most was “GiGi”, as her grandsons affectionately called her. Shana never met a stranger and treated everyone as a friend. To know her was to love her. She lived her life for Jesus and that faith made a lasting impression on anyone who sat in her chair. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her dad, George Benny “Poppy” Ellis and her brother, Jeffrey Lee Munn Bludsworth. Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Gary Grantham of Dothan, one daughter, Leah Drake (Wesley) of Dothan; one son, Garrett Grantham (Molly) of Dothan; her mother, Judy Ellis of New Brockton; two sisters, Theresa Keller (Greg) of Birmingham and Paula Hancock (Tony) of Skipperville; three brothers, Paul Bludsworth (Kim) of Skipperville, Chad Ellis, Brad Ellis (Patra) all of New Brockton; four grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth “Lizzie” Smith, Gunner Grantham, Grayson Grantham, and Levi Drake; one God daughter, Josie Claire Hancock. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Dothan Christian Fellowship, 2054 John D. Odom Road, Dothan, AL 36303.
