Obituary of Dr. William B. Shadburn

Dr. William Burton Shadburn, a resident of Montgomery, died Thursday, December 21, 2023. He was 83 years old. Funeral services for Dr. Shadburn will be graveside 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 27, 2023, in Alabama Heritage Cemetery in Montgomery with Reverend Karl Stegall officiating. Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Dr. Shadburn was born September 3, 1940 to the late W. N. Shadburn and Annie Laurie Shadburn. He received his Doctorate of Medicine Degree from Emory Medical School in 1966 and completed his internship at UAB in Birmingham. Dr. Shadburn served in the United States Air Force as a surgeon until 1977. Following his military service he practiced surgery in Montgomery. Dr. Shadburn loved golf, Alabama football, Lake Martin and taking his grandchildren on golf cart rides. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Shadburn. Dr. Shadburn is survived by his wife, Donna Smith Shadburn of Montgomery, AL; his children, Andrea, Ben and Matt Shadburn of Montgomery, AL, Jarrod Grimshawe (Jennifer) of Fairhope, AL, Brandon Grimshawe (Jenny) of Erie, PA, Mallory Michaelson (Nick) of Montgomery, AL and Christen Lavecchia (Mitchell) of Pike Road, AL; grandchildren, Emery Lavecchia, William Grimshawe, Millie Michaelson, Lucy Lavecchia, Harper Grimshawe, Elliott Michaelson and Margaret Michaelson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Montgomery, 2416 West Cloverdale Park, Montgomery, Alabama 36106; or to the Alzheimer’s Resource Center, P. O.
