Mr. Jared Robert Jernegan, a resident of Ariton, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. He was 50 years old.

A memorial service for Mr. Jernegan will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Ozark with Dr. Scott E. Thompson officiating, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends in the church Thursday from 9:30 A.M. until service time.

Jared was born April 6, 1973 in Dale County, Alabama and graduated from G. W. Long High School in 1991. He worked with the Dale County Board of Education as Maintenance Director. Jared was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a committed follower of Christ and led his family in a Christian home. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Crow Jernegan.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years. Teresa Weiland Jernegan; two sons, James Harrison Jernegan and Wyatt Thomas Jernegan; his father, James Toby Jernegan; two brothers, Jason Jernegan (Yanci) and Justin Jernegan (Shea); and very special friends, Ronald and Judy. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
