Obituary of Jessica Collier Sammons

Mrs. Jessica Leigh Collier Sammons, a resident of Newton, passed away Monday, December 2, 2024, at her home. She was 82 years old. Funeral services for Mrs. Sammons will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 6, 2024, from Newton Baptist Church with Reverend Jonathan Bost officiating. Interment will follow in Newton City Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Friday in the church from 10:00A.M. until service time. Mrs. Sammons was born December 11, 1941 in Dale County, Alabama to the late Palmer Lee Collier and Jessie Beryl Williams Collier. She was a life-long resident of Newton and life-time member of Newton Baptist Church and she loved working with the EMC Daycare. She worked along side her husband building a successful aviation business. Mrs. Sammons loved her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Jack Sammons; and her sister, Evelyn Collier. Survivors include two sons, Jack Sammons (Kathy) of Newton and Bobby Sammons of Lake Murray, South Carolina; one grandson, Tristan Andrews; one granddaughter, Skylar Sammons; and two nephews, Jackie Porter and Mike Porter. She had too many friends to list but she loved them all. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to Newton Baptist Church, P. O. Box 97, Newton, Alabama 36352; or to Save-A-Life of Dale County, P O. Box 41, Ozark, Alabama 36361.
