Obituary of David Lee Snook

Mr. David Lee Snook, age 54, died Wednesday morning, May 31, 2006 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Saturday, June 3, 2006, at Ozark Baptist Church with Reverend Bill Hix and Hospice Chaplain Charles Goldsmith officiating. Interment will follow with Military Honors in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Friday evening. Mr. Snook's body will be placed in the Church one hour prior to service time on Friday. Mr. Snook was born February 28, 1952 in El Paso, Texas. He graduated from Carroll High School in 1970 and attended Auburn University. Mr. Snook served in the United States Army for sixteen years, attended Flight School at Fort Rucker and Officer Candidate School. He was on active duty during Operation Desert Storm and served as a flight instructor for eight years. Mr. Snook was a member of Ozark Baptist Church and the Co-Ed Adult II Sunday School Class. He enjoyed horseback riding and loved his dogs, Gracie and Georgie. Mr. Snook was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Pamela Moates Snook of Ozark, three daughters, Christiane E. McKelvey and her husband, Eric, Jessica E. Snook, and Ashley N. Snook all of Ozark, one son, Daniel David Snook and his wife, Sara Beth of Moore, South Carolina, his parents, Lucy Torres Snook and George Henry Snook of Ozark, three sisters, Kathy Short and her husband, Lamar of North Carolina, Robin Pearce and her husband, Ken of Missouri, and Patricia Hayes of Ozark, one brother, George Snook and his wife, Hulda of Texas, three grandchildren, Sarah McKelvey, Elizabeth McKelvey, and Hannah K. Snook. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in his memory to Wiregrass Hospice, 1970 East Andrews Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
