Obituary of Louis Baldwin Martin

Mr. Louis Baldwin Martin, Sr. of Ozark, died early Friday morning, August 19, 2016, at his home with his family. He was 86 years old. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Monday, August 22, 2016, from Ozark Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Bill Montgomery and Reverend Bill Hix officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the church Monday morning from 9:30 A. M. until service time. Mr. Martin was born June 29, 1930 in Ozark, Alabama to the late Argus Barnes Martin and Prillie Tee Baldwin Martin. He served in the United States Army and the Army National Guard until his retirement. Following his military service, he worked with the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier until his retirement there in November 1990. He was an active member of the Ozark Baptist Church and a Deacon Emeritus. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Jeremy Louis Martin. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Jane Walding Martin; one daughter and son-in-law, Amanda Diane and Carl W. Hall; one son and daughter-in-law, Louis B. Martin, Jr. and Sheila Martin; grandchildren, Blayne Wiig, Adrien Martin, Kaylee Martin, Marshall Hall (Nikki), and Clabe Hall (Twila); great grandchildren, Bryce Hall, Katie Hall, Austin Griner, and Grayson Hall; one sister, Betty Jo Leonard; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Barnes and Lynn Martin, Anson and Susan Martin, Noel and Sharon Martin. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorials may be made to Ozark Baptist Church, 282 South Union Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360; or flowers will be accepted. Service Information
