Mr. Billy Ray Smith, 83, of Ozark, died Saturday, April 1, 2017.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A. M. Tuesday, April 4, 2017, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Charles Gann officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Monday from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
Mr. Smith was born June 26, 1933 in Dale County to the late Grenade Smith and Rosa Lee Herring Smith. He worked with Jerry Mitchell Chevrolet in Ozark for twenty-five years and several years with Walter Hand Ford as Body Shop Manager. He loved going fishing, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Smith was an avid Alabama fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Becky Marie Fulford Smith; and one brother, William Garold Smith.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Paul Potter of Ozark; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Larry Smith of Ozark, Harold and Sherry Smith of Skipperville; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Helen Carter of Huntsville, Shirley and Dale Lowery of Ozark, Nadine and Wes Whitefield of Dothan. Five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren also survive.
