Mr. Jack B. Greene of Shalimar, Florida, passed away October 16, 2004 in Mobile, Alabama of natural causes. He was 84 years old. Memorial services will at 4:00 P. M. on Tuesday, October 19, 2004, at Bellwood Baptist Church in Bellwood, Alabama with Dr. Ralph Brannon officiating. Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The Greene family will receive friends from 4:00 P. M. until 6:00 P. M. at the First United Methodist Church of Ft. Walton Beach on Monday October 18, 2004. Mr. Greene was born and was raised in Bellwood, Alabama. He attended high school in Enterprise,Alabama, graduated from then Dale County High School in Ozark, Alabama, and received a BS degree in Agricultural Science from Auburn University. Afterward, he enlisted in the United States Army and served during World War II, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge. Following his military service, Mr. Greene received a Master of Science degree in Agriculture from the University of Florida, and taught high school Agricultural Science courses in Jay, Florida. He later operated two small businesses, The Kreamette Ice Cream stores of Ft. Walton Beach, and Greene's General Tire in Niceville, Florida. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ft. Walton Beach. Jack was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved the outdoors, telling stories, and being with his family. He is preceded in death by his wife, Gene Johnston Greene, his brothers, Luke and Carson Greene, and his sisters, Edna Holman, and Rose Warren. Survivors include his children, Jill Luczkovich, Jane Greene, Janet Kopf, and Jack B. Greene, Jr., and three grandchildren, Josh Greene, Alex Kopf, and Matthew Kopf.
