Obituary of Joe Frank Sellers

Mr. Joe Frank Sellers, 69, of Ozark, died Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at his home.
Funeral services will be 5:00 P. M. (CST) Friday, June 9, 2017, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Keith Reynolds officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be held Monday, June 12, 2017, 10:00 A.M. (CST) in Fort Mitchell National Veterans Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Thursday evening from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M.
Mr. Sellers was born February 22, 1948 in Troy, Alabama. He grew up in Ozark where he graduated from Carroll High School in 1966. He was a valuable basketball player for the Carroll High Eagles. He graduated from then Troy State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing. Mr. Sellers served in the United States Air Force for four years. Following his military service, he worked as a purchasing agent with Brown Manufacturing Company. He enjoyed boating, hunting, fishing, photography, camping, canoeing, and archery. He was preceded in death by his father, Hubert Andrews Sellers.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Sevilla Becker “Sam” Sellers of Ozark; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Kandy Kenney of Ozark, Stacey and Joe Boos of Kansas, Mindi and Brandon Meyaard, South Carolina; two sons and daughters-in-law, Darren and Cindi Dunlap of Georgia, Brian and Robin Sellers of Montgomery; his Mother, Grace Jones Weaver of Ozark; one brother and sister-in-law, Jackie and Nancy Sellers of Birmingham; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Cindy and Johnny Bowman of Ozark, Ann and Sam Phillips of Ozark; six grandchildren, Krissy, Cody, Dalton, Kenzie, Andrew, and Callie; one great grandchild, Leila; two brothers-in-law, Harold Becker of Ozark, Gary and Chris Becker of Montana; two sisters-in-law, Wanda Meinhardt and Mary and Jack Tarvin of Kansas. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Ozark-Dale County Humane Society, P. O. Box 2502, Ozark, Alabama 36361.
