Obituary of Delores Green Barr

Delores Green Barr, age 65, of Ozark, died Sunday, April 6, 2014, at her home following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will 2:00 P. M. Sunday, April 13, 2014, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Harold Peters officiating. Interment will follow in Hopeful Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Sunday at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until service time. Delores was born July 9, 1948 in Dothan, Alabama to the late John B. Green and Lucille Bowman Green. She accepted Christ as a small child and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Delores attended Ozark High School and retired from Mass Merchandising Company. She was a caregiver and was always ready to help anyone in need. Also she was an excellent cook. Her love was to share her food with her family and friends. Delores loved to travel. She made a visit to thirty-eight states and enjoyed collecting souvenirs from each state. She was a person that loved everyone, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed by her family and friends. Survivors include three daughters, Sherry Whitehead, Shelia English, and Shannon Jacobs all of Ozark; one son, Shelly Mark Beavers of Ozark; seven grandchildren, Quentin English, Heather Whitehead, Dylan Prater, Tyler Whitehead, Samantha Jacobs, Kelsey Prater, and Shelby Jacobs; four great grandchildren, Kieleigh English, Kenzie English, Kiyah Whitehead, and Abigail Whitehead; one brother, Donald Green of Ozark; one sister, Carol Smith of Wilmington, Delaware. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3054 McGehee Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36111. Service Information
