Mr. William David "Mc" McGowan, II, age 69, of Ozark, died Wednesday morning, January 14, 2009, at his home following an extended illness. A memorial service for Mr. McGowan will be graveside with full Military Honors at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, January 20, 2008, with Reverend Cedric Gibson officiating, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Mr. McGowan was born September 6, 1939 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late William David and Elizabeth McGowan. He served in the United States Army as a paratrooper and a pilot for twenty years until his retirement. Following his retirement from the Army, he was an instructor pilot with various contractors at Fort Rucker. He was the assistant manager at Boland Lanes bowling alley in Enterprise, and with the bowling alley at Fort Rucker for over twenty-five years, where he helped with special children. Survivors include his wife, Rosa Marie Garner McGowan of Ozark; one son, William David McGowan, III of North Carolina, one daughter and son-in-law; Suzanne Nicole and Jerry McClellon of Texas; step-children, Wendi Boutwell and husband, Junior, Candi Beckett and husband, Jay, Heather Bouyer and husband Claude, Ronni Hirschy, Josh Campbell, C.J. Campbell II, Mandy Campbell; special friend, James Hinnand; grandchildren, Alex, Tristan, and Chase McClellon, Tony Boutwell, Amber, Ariel, and J. J. Beckett, Jazmine, Bryan, and Nathaniel Bouyer, Lizzi and Momo Hinnard; nephew, Billy Williams and his wife Tiffany, their children Rosie, Shelby, and Hannah; a special sister-in-law, Joyce Williams and husband Bill. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Hospice of Dale Medical Center, 126 Hospital Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360. Service Information
