Obituary of Joyce Ann Clark

Mrs. Joyce Ann Clark, age 68, of Newton, died Monday night, May 5, 2008, at her home following an extended illness. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Thursday, May 8, 2008, Newton United Methodist Church with Reverend David Willis officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Newton, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends in the Church from 12:30 P. M. Thursday until service time. Mrs. Clark was born July 27, 1939 in Dale County to the late Cecil and Myrtle Andrews Ellis. She and her late husband, James Lamar "Jimmy" Clark owned and operated Southland Nursery in Newton for over 20 years. She was also a loving homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Newton. Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Helms of Newton; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jeffery Lamar and Laura Clark, James Allen Clark all of Dothan; one sister and brother-in-law, Jackie and Larry Brown of Bay Minette; three brothers, Larry Ellis of Ozark, Cecil Ellis of Shilott, North Carolina, and Bobby Ellis of Dothan; seven grandchildren, Heather Tidwell and husband, Mike, Anthony Helms and wife, Carly, Melody Clark, Eric Clark, Garrett Clark, Nathan Handley, and Zeke Handley; four great grandchildren, Aleah Tidwell, Seth Tidwell, Lily Helms, and Chloe Helms; special family friends, Teri Clark and Russell Garner. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Service Information
