Obituary of Willie C. Chancey

Mrs. Willie Charles Thompson Chancey, age 86, of Ozark, died Wednesday morning, December 23, 2009, in Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be 2:30 P. M. Sunday, December 27, 2009, from Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church with Reverend Mike Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the church Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until service time. Mrs. Chancey was born January 9, 1923 in Coffee County to the late Lamuel Charlie Thompson and Willie Ethel Adams Thompson. She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and a homemaker. Mrs. Chancey had worked as a dietician with Ozark Health and Rehabilitation. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Chancey, Sr. Survivors include one son, John Edward "Ed" Chancey, Jr. of Ozark; one grandson, John Edward "Eddie" Chancey, III and wife, Mashell of Ozark; two sisters, Annie Mae Andrews of Ozark, and Dorothy Roberts of Andalusia; and one brother, Harold Thompson of Ozark.
