Obituary of Geneva Ann Neher

Bo Neher, a longtime Ozark resident, died peacefully Tuesday morning, November 2, 2010, at her home following an extended illness. She was 88 years old. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM, Friday, November 5, 2010 in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Dr. Walter Reeder officiating, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Burial will be in Westview Memorial Cemetery. Bo was born in Altus, Oklahoma in 1922. She was the mother of three children and the wife of an aviator. Her early life was spent travelling the world with him. She moved to Ozark in 1954 with her husband, John, when the Army Flight School was moved to Camp Rucker, Alabama from Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. She was a basketball player and waterskier, a singer and dancer, a poor joke teller, an animal lover, an excellent birthday party giver and was artistically creative. She enjoyed playing bridge, working crossword puzzles, and playing dominos. She worked in Ozark as a volunteer in her later years. She volunteered with Dale County Pensions and Securities, Ozark Service League and worked for many years at Vivian B. Adams School in the ceramics department. She also spent several years working in the office of Dr. Dowling Petrey. She was a member of The Post Oak United Methodist Church and The Ozark Church of Christ. When she and her husband retired, they spent many years travelling around the country to antique airplane shows. She helped her husband restore several antique planes and accompanied him to the shows. She said her second home was an airplane hanger. She is preceded in death by her husband, John T. Neher, and her son, John M. Neher. She is survived by two daughters, Joan Neher and Judy Neher, both of Ozark, as well as many nieces and nephews.
