Obituary of Charles Ray Jaggars

Mr. Charles R. Jaggars, age 66, of Ashford, passed away Sunday evening, July 12, 2009, in Southeast Alabama Medical Center. Funeral services will be 3:30 P. M. Thursday, July 16, 2009, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Terry Drinkwater and Reverend John Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. Wednesday evening. Mr. Jaggars was born March 26, 1943 in Siloam Spring, Arkansas to the late Jesse Playto Jaggars and Maxine Lorene Martin Jaggars. He lived in various places while serving in the United States Air Force, and was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War. He and his family moved to Alabama in July 1986. He was employed as Manager of Hendricks Home Center, worked with Ozark Building Supply, and Stormin's Towing. He was currently working with Hughes Home Center in Echo. Mr. Jaggars was a member of Union Springs Freewill Baptist Church in Pansey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the Mother of his children, Rita Jean Jaggars in 2001. Survivors include his wife, Linda Sue Jaggars of Ashford; one daughter, Rita Lynn Jaggars of Midland City; one son and daughter-in-law, Shawn Ray and Kimberly Jaggars of Echo; Step-Children, Sue Williams of Pansey, Alabama, Earl Johnson of Ashford, Bobby Johnson of Abbeville, Robert Johnson of Moreno Valley, California, Michael Dyson and Dawn Townsell of Ashford; one sister, Joyce Dalland of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; four brothers, Dick Jaggars of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Tommy Jaggars of Lamar, Missouri, Ronald Jaggars and Michael Jaggars of Pryor, Oklahoma; one niece, Debra Brown of Humble, Texas; four grandchildren, Benjamin Sobay, Joseph Sobay, Drew Sobay, and Cody Ray Jaggars; several step-grandchildren and great grandchildren. Very special friends, Bibb Jr. and Pam Hughes along with countless other friends also survive. Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Sobay, Ted Sobay, Ben Sobay, Shawn Jaggars, Michael Dyson, and Lloyd Townsell Service Information
