Mr. Joseph "Joe" Wagner Harrer, Sr., age 84, died Thursday, May 19, 2011.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 21, 2011, in Thibodaux, Louisiana. Graveside services will be 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, May 24, 2011, in Chalkhead Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Tommy West officiating, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mr. Harrer was born October 19, 1926 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina to the late Gustave Adolphus Harrer and Florence Wagner Harrer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Laeticia H. Snow; and one brother, Gustave Harrer.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Bagwell Harrer;
one son, Joseph W. Harrer, Jr.;
one daughter and son-in-law, Anne H. and Michael M. Ledet;
one sister, Marcella H. Congdon;
four grandchildren, Erin P. Louviere and husband, Steven, Rachel E. Harrer, Michael W. Ledet, and Jeffrey H. Ledet;
two great grandchildren, Robert J. Louviere and William N. Louviere.
