Catherine Fain Revel, age 68, of Dothan, died Monday, June 2, 2014, in Noland Hospital in Dothan. A memorial service for Miss Revel was held at 10:30 A. M. Saturday, June 7, 2014, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Jim Reece officiating. The family received friends following the service. Mrs. Revel was born November 6, 1945 in Dothan, Alabama to the late William Robert Revel and Catherine Fain Matthews Revel. Catherine graduated from A. G. Parrish High School, Selma, Alabama, in 1963, attended Sullins College in Bristol, Virginia, and graduated from Livingston University in Livingston, Alabama. She served briefly in Viet Nam with the American Red Cross. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Troy University. She also did graduate work and was a mental health counselor. She was a member of Northview Christian Church in Dothan and was also a member of the NCC Choir. She was a devoted mother to her daughter Donna…who was the light of her life. Catherine is survived by her daughter Donna, her sister Frances, her brother Dr. Robert A.M. (Carol) Revel, niece Leslie Revel, and nephew Matthew Revel. She was preceded in death by her parents – William Robert and Catherine Matthews Revel – and by her grandparents – Dr. A.D. “Gus” and Mrs. Tomie Fain Matthews. Service Information
