Hellen was a beautiful lady and a great friend. She will be greatly missed.
My husband Jim was her pastor for several years. He passed away on Nov. 20, so I'm sure he welcomed Hellen into heaven.

No matter how old you are, losing your mother leaves you with a special feeling of abandonment. Somehow you mother ties you to the earth and to life, and no matter what she is always there for you until suddenly she's not. May God bless all of you and keep you in this time of mourning. And may your lifelong memories comfort you in coming weeks.

Seldom do childen witness their fathers crying....and when they do, they immediately know that things aren't right. Monday morning when we received the news that grandmother had passed James was instantly stricken with overwhelming grief. Our 4 year old was fast to respond with words of encouragment and physical nurturing. "Daddy, I'm right here...everything is okay"! Later she asked me, "Mommy, what's wrong with daddy?" When I responded that great grandmother Hellen had gone to live with Jeses she simply replied, "Oh...if you go left Jesus is there and if you go right Jesus is there, Jesus is EVERYWHERE and he lives in our hearts---so that is okay." These words overwhelmed me with joy, sadness, and warmth!!! I hope these words of a 4 year old help you all in your moments of grieving.

Doug, you lost a mother who loved you and James unconditionally. She was proud of all you did and let it be known. She was a good friend always, the four of us had great times together, taking many trips together when we were younger. We were there for each other In The good & bad times, Last few years our health issues had kept us apart but our love for each remained. Hellen was a true Lady, and loved beautiful things, I will miss her knowing she is no longer here, heaven is rejoicing, she and Billy are together again, I'm sure Dan is not far away, I can hear them catching up on Ozark news. God Bless you, Beverly, and the boys in the coming days. Please know I care.

Hellen I will miss you with all my heart. Where others saw a reserved individual I saw shyness where others saw stubborness I saw resolve. She always treated me with the up most respect as her daughter-in law and encouraged me in all my professional goals. We traveled together, shared many a laugh which I will treasure in my heart always.
Love
Bev
