Mrs. Eleanor Gamble Carter, age 86, of Ozark, died Friday morning, March 19, 2010, at her home following an brief illness. Graveside funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Sunday, March 21, 2010, in Westview Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Roger Stone officiating. Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 P. M. until 5:00 P. M. Saturday. Mrs. Carter was born February 3, 1924 in Ozark to the late Grady H. and Eva Bussell Gamble. She married her late husband, Marvin Britt Carter, Sr. in 1940. Mrs. Carter was a member of Southside Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking, baking, and Florida State football. She was an avid Republican. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Grady Gamble, Jr. and Horace Gamble. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Sonny and Maggie Carter of Midland City; one sister, Myrtle Cook of Tallahassee, Florida; one brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Ernestine Gamble of West Point, Georgia; one grandson, Shane Dagostin of Auburn. Two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive. Service Information
